Two Teachers Win National Translation Contest Prizes
On November 8, theresults of the 15th "Dalian University of Foreign Languages -'English World' Cup" Translation Competition were announced. Mr. FeiJijing and Mr. Ma Dezhong from the School of Foreign Languages claimed thefirst and third prizes, respectively, in the "Chinese to English" category.Additionally, the School of Foreign Languages received the "OutstandingOrganization Award."
This marks thesecond time that Mr. Fei Jijing has won the top prize in this competition,following his success in 2022. In this year's contest, Fei's translation of"A Master Painter’sUnparalleled Love for Dragons (excerpt)" showcased his deep understandingof traditional Chinese culture, eloquently conveying the essence of classicalChinese culture to a global audience. Fei Jijing emphasizes that "the beautyof translation lies in your cultural confidence and a profound understanding,along with a free and innovation rendering of the text to entertain the targetlanguage audience. I am dedicated to fostering excellence in translationeducation, preserving our rich traditional culture, and contributing to thecultural strength of our nation."
Mr. Ma Dezhong hasalso garnered multiple awards in this competition over the years, highlightinghis consistent prowess in translation.
