SFL Conducts Research Visits to Prestigious Universities

On March 19, a research delegation from SFL visited several leading domestic universities, including East China Normal University and Shanghai Institute of Technology, for a specialized study tour. Led by Vice Deans Liu Jinlong and Du Lijuan, and joined by SFLOffice Director Li Chao along with department heads and key faculty members, the delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges focusing on foreign language education and teaching, talent cultivation, scientific research, disciplinary development, and administrative management in the new era.

During the visit to the School of Foreign Languages at East China Normal University, leaders and experts including Vice Deans Zhao Chaoyong and Zhao Gang, and Director of College English Yan Wenqing, provided detailed introductions to the school’s outstanding achievements in talent cultivation, teaching reform, scientific research, and disciplinary development. Particularly in the context of "New Liberal Arts" development, the school actively explores interdisciplinary integration between foreign languages and other disciplines, innovatively advances the "Foreign Languages +" interdisciplinary talent training model, and is committed to collaborative development and co-creation across humanities and sciences, providing valuable insights for our school’s talent cultivation and disciplinary development.


During the visit to the School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Institute of Technology, leaders and experts including Party Secretary Yang Xue, Dean and Deputy Party Secretary Pan Zhidan, and Vice Dean and Deputy Party Secretary Zhou Xiongcai, along with a team of key faculty members, held in-depth discussions with the delegation. Both sides engaged in lively exchanges and shared their practical experiences and development strategies in educational reform, covering topics such as curriculum system optimization, teaching and research, disciplinary and program development, innovation in teaching and research activities, and laboratory construction.This research visit proved highly productive, not only deepening exchanges and cooperation with sister universities in Shanghai but also providing new insights and directions for foreign language education, talent cultivation, disciplinary and program development, and administrative management at our university. The School of Foreign Languages will seize this opportunity to fully absorb the advanced experiences of peer institutions, closely align them with the school’s realities, further promote the digital and intelligent transformation of foreign language education, optimize the disciplinary and program landscape, and continue to advance the school’s high-quality development to new heights.
