To enhance the quality of translation talent cultivation and advance AI-integrated translation proficiency, the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) organized a faculty-student "Face-to-Face" event at the Student One-Stop Service Center on April 9. Vice Dean Du Lijuan, Translation Department Director Ma Dezhong, college counselors, and students from the translation program gathered to discuss the growth path of translation professionals in the intelligent era.

Du Lijuan began by addressing the transformation of language learning in the era of globalization, emphasizing that "English learning is no longer confined to textbooks and classrooms." She introduced the concept of the "Four-Dimensional Expansion" in English learning, encouraging students: "Translation is not merely the conversion of language but a bridge between cultures. Only by opening your minds and exploring diverse paths can you grow into versatile talents."Students submitted "puzzle notes" on-site, and the attending faculty provided prompt responses, engaging in in-depth dialogue on topics such as "career prospects under the impact of AI translation," "choosing between literary and practical translation," "academic course planning," "access to internship resources," and "preparation for translation qualification certifications." Both faculty and students recognized that cultivating translation talent requires focused efforts in high-precision fields and the integration of engineering translation. They agreed on the importance of accumulating practical experience through university-enterprise collaboration projects and language services for large-scale events, aiming to develop comprehensive translation professionals with "language proficiency, technical skills, and industry knowledge."SFL will continue to strengthen student engagement research, closely align with societal and student needs, and persistently improve the quality of applied translation talent cultivation.
