The Applied Foreign Languages Department, composed of 12 teachers and a number of part-time foreign teachers, plays an essential role in the foreign languages teaching and research of the school, undertakes remarkably important tasks of teaching and research, and has made gigantic contribution to the substantial improvement of foreign languages skills of students of the school.

The Department sets out to cultivate and enhance students’ applied linguistic skills by offering a large number of applied linguistic courses to all students of the school, major courses including Business English, Intensive English, Extensive English, English Listening & Speaking, English Speaking, English-Chinese Translation, Business English Speaking and Import & Export Correspondence.

In addition to considerable efforts to boost teaching quality in class, the Department attaches great importance to explore extra-curriculum interactions, providing a weekly English Salon and an online platform for Business English learning. The course Business English has been certified as one of the school model courses and meanwhile, a number of courses are being constructed into school model courses.
